Born near Marcus, Iowa, after achieving his law degree from the University of Minnesota
and admitted to bar in 1949, he moved to Denver. He practiced law in El Paso County since 1962 and was a member of many local organizations. Avid reader, historian, and traveler who enjoyed opera, he lived near the Beaver Creek State Wildlife Area since 1985. He is survived by daughters Kathryn Hayes, Eleanor Binnings, and Virginia Anderson, stepchildren, John Otto and Jerrelynn Fussell, and his beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
