Lola Romero

Lola Romero began her eternal life on April 19, 2014. She was born on March 2, 1918 in San Pablo, Colorado. She lived in Colorado Springs since 1961. Lola was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lola was deeply loved by family and friends, and her gentle and loving spirit was felt by all. Her joy in life was her family. She was known to most everyone by her nickname, Honey.

Lola was preceded in death by her devoted and loving husband of 64 years, Al Romero, son Dale Romero and grandson, Donald Johnson.

Lola will be deeply missed by her son, Carl Romero (Pat); daughters Margaret Johnson, Sharon Romero, Loretta Stapel (Dick) and Cynthia Nelson (Steve); daughter-in-law Sandi Towers-Romero; her grandchildren, Sarah, Amanda, Michael, Kristopher, Crystal, Zach, Jason, Danilee and Elise; her great grandchildren Tyler and Brandon; her sisters Patsy, Helen, Sister Casilda (OSF) and Marie; nieces, nephews and many dear friends. We all stand in admiration and gratitude for all the love, guidance and grace she brought to our lives.

All of Honey's children gave unselfishly and lovingly to her care over the past several years. The family would like to give special recognition to Margaret Johnson, Sharon Romero and Dodie Gladden, caregivers extraordinaire, for their day-to-day, loving guardianship of our mother.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00pm on Monday, April 28. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 29 at 2:00pm at Memorial Gardens Cemetery & Funeral Home, 3825 Airport Road, Colorado Springs CO.
