Marie Louise Kanger

Marie Louise Kanger passed away late Tuesday night, the evening of the November 20th. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 20, 1918. After graduating high school she worked in the newspaper business. She moved with her family to Colorado Springs in the early fifties and began a very successful career as a secretary for high ranking Army and Air Force generals. Her work took her all over Europe, and these experiences gave her a love for travel that she continued into retirement. Trips into the southwest with her family were a favorite pastime of hers. Marie was a very faithful woman and an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church since moving to Colorado. She was a generous parishioner with time, talent, and treasure. She always enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and neighbors. She will be dearly missed. She preceded in death by her brother George Kanger and her sisters Gertrude Kanger, Lucille Novlan, and Dorothy Calandrella. Marie is survived by her nephew Stephen Calandrella and his three children, Severin, Nichole, and Colton Calandrella of Colorado Springs and Dave and Linda Novlan of El Paso, Texas and their son Tom Novlan.
