Newell Franklin Taylor(1932 - 2013)

Newell Franklin Taylor, 81, died October 17, 2013. A 57 year resident of Colorado Springs. Mr. Taylor was born August 30, 1932 to Richard N. and Dorothea Taylor near Northwood, IA. He married Shirley Jensen at Walnut, IA in October 1951. He retired from the Postal Service January 2, 1988 after serving in many areas of management. After military duty the family resided in Colorado Springs beginning in 1956. Winter residence since retiring was in Sun City West, AZ.

Survivors are his wife Shirley of Colorado Springs a son, Jim (Kathy) Taylor of Highlands Ranch, CO, and 3 daughters, Peggy Sampson of Colorado Springs and Patty Riley (Hans) Degraaf of Santa Clara, CA and Sandy (Tom) Duscher of Englewood, CO. Six grandchildren and a sister, Judy (Dan Loveland of Harlan, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Ruth (Allen) Beck and Darlene Taylor.

He was member of Faith Lutheran Church and an Associate member of American Lutheran Church of Sun City, AZ. Since retiring he enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. as well as Hawaii, England and Denmark.

Visitation- Memorial Gardens, Tuesday 10-12 pm

Memorial Service-Faith Lutheran Church, Tuesday 1:00 pm
