Pansy Clabaugh Clark

Pansy Clabaugh Clark went peacefully to meet her Heavenly Father at 4:31 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the age of 99. Born February 20, 1914 to Charlie Myers and Cora Emmitt Myers in the Spring City community, she married Martin Clabaugh in 1938. From this union were born two daughters, Julie Bealer of Joplin and Janice Vowels Adams and husband, Rick, of the home. Pansy always enjoyed working and had several jobs in her lifetime. Following Martin's death in 1968, she went to live near one of her sisters in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where she met and married Hank Clark in 1969. Following Hank's death in 1991, she continued to live in Colorado Springs near many friends and family. She moved back to Joplin in 2007. Besides her daughters, she is also survived by grandchildren: Gavin Bealer of Joplin, Scot Vowels of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Michael Bealer and wife, Heidi of Joplin, Leah Vowels Hoffman and husband, Brian of Carl Junction; sisters: Gay Jones of Colorado Springs, Ruth Lamb of Joplin, Mary Daugherty of Joplin; three great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; a sister, Violet Drake of Seneca; twin brothers, Ray Myers of rural Joplin and Roy Myers of Joplin; and a baby brother, Alvin Myers. She was a member of Harmony Heights Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Parker Chapel with Rev. Charlie Burnett and Rick Adams officiating. Interment will follow at Hornet Cemetery with Gavin, Michael and Riley Bealer, Scott Vowels, Brian Hoffman and Jake Taylor serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. Memorial contributions may be made to Salvation Army.
