Richard W. Gzybowski, 63, of Colorado Springs passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013.
He is survived by his four children: John, Jennifer, Christopher, and Andrew; also by his mother Beverly, brother Michael, sister Jean, and former wife Lois.
Richard was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Culver Military Academy and served in Vietnam as a Ranger in the United States Army. After serving his country he settled down in Colorado where he began working as a bricklayer and later as an electrician. He became a master electrician and started his own business, RG Electric, in 1983. He successfully ran his business for 30 years and in doing so touched the hearts of many of his customers. His humor, smile, and booming laugh will never be forgotten by those who knew him.
Richard had a passion for the outdoors and he devoted his free time to backpacking, hiking, camping, photography, scuba diving, and skydiving. He shared his passions with his children and was also an active leader with the Boy Scouts in Troop 1.
The family will be holding a private service but encourages everyone to send their condolences and share memories online through Legacy.com
