Ruby was born on November 12, 1918 in Gibbon, Nebraska. The armistice declared and Ruby's life truly symbolized the act of peace. Ruby passed away July 13, 2013 at her home in Colorado Springs.
Ruby was preceded in death by her parents Genoa Thomas and Agnes (Miller) Thomas, two brothers Arthur and Alfred Thomas, and one sister, Opal (Thomas) Moore.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Kit Evans and Jay Evans, both reside in Colorado Springs.
Ruby, a great beauty was fond of gardening and loved to cook and bake as many will attest. Her true passion was playing bridge and her association with many groups, especially the Elks. She will be sadly missed.
Her view of life was always bright and optimistic, a great sense of humor, she was truly spiritual seeing God as ubiquitous, not confined to rigid structures.
Ruby worked along side her husband (Milton) on many different cattle ranches in eastern Colorado. Later on she worked in the Falcon and Peyton School Districts first as a cook, then secretary and financial administrator at Peyton for 12 years.
