Dear Chris, Nicole, Megan, and Family,
George was a good man. I see your sorrow, and know that there is little I can do to pave the way to peace for you. Time helps with that. Know that those of us who surround the Family are here to "Walk and Talk; Eat and Drink; Laugh and Cry" with you. As someone wrote earlier, remember George in his Mountains. He will always be missed. Much Love, Pam

Dear Dad!!!
Never did I imagine my life without you. Not only were you my father, but my supporter, protector, and comfort from fear. You loved us so and I am very grateful to not hold grudges nor regrets towards you. As you well know, my mother is my best friend, but you were her best friend through it all! You gave our family your promise to take care of us all till death do you part, and to everyone outside our family...You conquered that, plus so much more. I love you so much dad, but you already know that. And all i can honestly say is, "THANK YOU"!!!!
You of all people have proven to this world why the good die young.

I was one of George's students in Organic Chemistry at PPCC. It was the hardest class I've ever taken. Luckily, he was one of the best teachers I've ever had. Patient, funny, interested, and excited about the subject. I measure other teachers against George and find most of them wanting. I'll miss George very much and hope that his family can find some solace in how many lives he touched. A good man who will be greatly missed!

It was always a good month if you found out you were flying with George. Whoever said "only the good die young" got it right this time.

George will live on in all our hearts. He was fantastic to fly with at Vanguard. With George as our captain, we knew we were safe, and he always made sure the flight attendants got food when we were doing a tight turn. He was always smiling and laughing and such a pleasure to be around! My sympathy goes out to his family, whom he always spoke of with the highest regard and fondness.

I worked with George at Vanguard and he was a professional that loved his job. As a Captain George was able to maintain high standards, leading his crew by example, earning their respect, while making it fun.
Everyone knew of his love for his family and home in the mountains. Take comfort in the memory of his joy he shared with everyone. Sincerely, Chad Landes

George loved those mountains. You could hear it in his voice as he leaned in from the jumpseat and would point out and name the peaks and ranges to us flatlander pilots. We know how cancer is a terrible thief of life. May you find peace in those mountains.
