Anne Marie (Annette) Niswonger, 72, passed from this life on August 28th at Memorial Hospital after a brave fight with cancer. Wesley, her husband of 49 years, was with her until the end.
The Guest Book is expired.
Annette was born in Algiers, Africa on April 8, 1941, to Jules and Marie Jeanne Lagae. She is survived by her husband, Wesley and 3 children, Si Niswonger, Christine Farrell and Michael Niswonger, and her six grand children, Georgia and Amelia Niswonger, Francoise, Isabella and Eva Farrell, and Anaiah Niswonger. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marie Jeanne and her father, Jules Lagae, her brother, Francois Lagae, and sister, Marie Claire Bossaert.
Her family of Belgian decent immigrated to the United States in 1956. In 1963, they moved to Colorado Springs where she met and married Wesley Niswonger, who she often referred to as the boy next door who's family owned a candy store. Annette joined Wesley's family business, Patsy's Candies, and together they continued to expand Patsy's into a well-known Colorado candy company.
As a wife and mother she was devoted to her family, which were the light of her life. Annette was an incredibly caring and generous woman who always thought of others first; her presence and smile would light up a room. She will be tremendously missed by her family and friends, and will always be remembered as the loving woman she was.
A memorial service will be held this Saturday August 31st at 11:00 at Fellowship of the Rockies 1625 S. 8th Street Colorado Springs Co. 80905.
