Annie Jean Broughton was born to Connie Lee James and John James in Evergreen, AL on March 24, 1944. She grew up in Cantonment, Florida and stayed there for years before moving to Colorado Springs, CO in 1979. Annie Jean joined her family in fellowship at St John's Baptist Church where she was a pillar of the church for 32 years and a faithful choir member. Annie Jean led an unselfish life helping those in her family and community. She was a giving and forgiving, open, caring person. She had a passion for music and shared it with everyone she knew. Even in the mist of sadness, she would touch your heart and make you laugh and smile. Annie Jean had nine children, Willie James Broughton (deceased, 2008), Darlene Broughton, Carlton Broughton, Vincent Broughton, Victor Broughton, Tiffany Broughton, Tara Broughton, Aretha Broughton and Tyrone Broughton. Visitation will be held, Friday, December 14th, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM, at St. John's Baptist Church, 903 South Prospect, Colorado Springs, CO 80909 Homegoing Celebration: Saturday, December 15th, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM at St. John's Baptist Church, 903 South Prospect, Colorado Springs, CO 80909. Interment - Evergreen Cemetery.
