Carol Frances Drewry, 82, living in Colorado Springs, CO, went to Heaven on Sunday, February 16th at about 2pm.
The Guest Book is expired.
She was born in Alma, Georgia, on March 29th, 1931. She was a great beauty of sharp intelligence, deep understanding, wit and compassion, and was deeply interested and curious about the world. She became Miss Georgia 1951, and soon after married James C. Drewry, a military officer, and set off to a life of travel and adventure.
She was a much beloved friend, mother and grandmother who enlivened every moment and gathering she was part of. After her divorce she went to work as Assistant Social Director at the Broadmoor Hotel. She later became the receptionist for the El Pomar foundation where she worked for 23 years. She was a member of the DAR and an accomplished piano player.
She is survived by her sister Beth Strickland, 2 children, Steve and Jan Drewry, and 4 grandchildren, Kenza, Sean, Tatyana and Lorba Drewry. Her son, Bob Drewry, passed away in 2009.
Carol was a gracious and beautiful lady, and our loss is Heaven's gain.
