Dorothy A. Blazis, 91, of Boulder, formerly of Colorado Springs, died Thurs., Feb. 7, 2013 at ManorCare Nursing Care in Boulder. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 1820 15th Street, Boulder, CO 80302, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at 1:30pm. Interment will take place at the Shrine of Remembrance, Colorado Springs, CO. Dorothy was born June 30, 1921 to John C. and Rena A. (Bechmann) Otteman in Byron, NE. She graduated from Palmer High School and Blair Business College, both of Colorado Springs, CO. Dorothy married Waldemar A. Schulz in 1943. He preceded her in death in 1977. She later married Frank Blazis in 1984. He also preceded her in death in 2001. Dorothy was a professional secretary (Judge Advocate's office at Fort Carson, CO and the YMCA, Colorado Springs, CO). She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Colorado Springs, CO and then First Presbyterian Church of Boulder. Dorothy's favorite blessings were her family, including 3 grandchildren, their spouses, and their children. Dorothy spent the last decade at Golden West making new friends, playing bridge weekly, reading, and using her computer. As her health deteriorated, she longed to be with Jesus. Survivors: son Waldean "Dean" Schulz (wife Judy) of Boulder, CO; 3 grandchildren: Eric (Natalie) Schulz of Lewisville, TX, Joel (Shannon) Schulz of Nashville, TN, and Lin (Ben) Preiss of Allentown, PA; 9 great-grandchildren Zoe, Andrew, Annabelle, Robin, Eliza, Lydia, Joseph, Timothy, and baby Luke (who went to be with the Lord the day after Dorothy did).
