Elmer L. Hess, 70, of Peyton, CO lost his battle with cancer on July 23, 2013. He was the widower of Anna L. Hess, wife for 44 years and the son of the late Charles and Mary Hess of Lancaster, PA. He will be greatly missed by son Darryl, his wife Kandel, and their sons Tyler and Zachary; son Glenn; son Robert, his wife Kathy and their children Trever, Kayla and Brooke; and daughter Connie, her husband Brian Lindsey, and their children Amber, Joel, Brianna and Connor. He is also survived by two brothers, B. Daniel and Charles; and three sisters, Anna Marie, Grace and Elizabeth. Elmer devoted many years and traveled internationally working with "Joni & Friends" Wheelchair ministry. He was also a faithful and active member at Woodmen Valley Chapel, serving as usher for a number of years. There will be a memorial service honoring Elmer's life at the Woodmen Heights Campus, 8292 Woodmen Valley View, Colorado Springs, on July 30th, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions can be made to "Joni & Friends" at joniandfriends.org/donate.
