Elvira L. Abbott, age 79, passed away on June 14, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. She was the wife of Retired Major James W. Abbott (USAF). She devoted her life to being a military wife and mother. To this union they had four children. Elvira loved to play golf and spending time with her family. She loved to give and help, especially other children, to seek the Lord. Elvira had a strong faith in the Lord. She would never turn anyone away that she felt needed help. She helped people at Pikes Peak Legal Services for over a decade. Babies were her weak point. Preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother. She is survived by one daughter, Melissa Abbott; three sons: Michael Abbott, James Abbott and John (Annette) Abbott; three sisters, one brother; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 28 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church in 5354 S. Highway 85, Security, Colorado.
