Esther Elizabeth Weiant, 73, a resident of Colorado Springs for the last 44 years, passed away at home on February 20, 2013 while surrounded by family. Esther was born in Trenton, Missouri on November 4, 1939, and grew up in Herington, Kansas. Prior to retirement, Esther worked at the Colorado Springs City Utilities for 30 years. Esther enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafts and spending time with family. Cherished and survived by her husband of 54 years, Harry Weiant; their children, Forrest Weiant and wife Elizabeth of Alaska, Yvonne Weiant of Alaska, Victoria Workman and husband Johnnie of Oregon, Russell Weiant and wife Terri of Colorado Springs; 12 grandchildren, Rebecca, Torrin, Robert (Andy), Alexander, Christopher, Johnnie, Dylan, Kristin, Stephanie, Jacob, Shannon and Claudia; great-granddaughter, Chloey; 2 sisters, Arminta of Arizona, Jessie Hartke and husband Rayburn of Pueblo; 3 brothers, Jim Porter and wife Connie of Texas, Robert Porter and wife Janice of Missouri, John Porter and wife Joyce of Missouri and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Calvery Baptist Church, 1712 S. Corona Ave, on Friday, March 1st at 11:00am. Esther's final resting place will be in Herington, Kansas.
