Eugene Raymond Ballheim, 82, of Colorado Springs, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Aspen Living Center with family by his bedside. Gene was born in Detroit, Michigan. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he saw action in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Gene earned several medals for his service and retired in 1969 as a Sargeant First Class. Gene was Past Master of Tejon Masonic Lodge No. 104, member of the Denver Consistory, member of Al Kaly Shriners and Clowns of Al Kaly, Past Patron of Centennial Chapter No. 58 OES, life member of the VFW, and life member of Memorial Lodge No. 2. He was an avid bowler. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara; his children, Raymond, Deborah, and Robert; grandchildren, Kelly and Robyn; and great-grandson, Jackson. In lieu of flowers, Gene's family request memorial donations to the Al Kaly Shrine Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 193, Pueblo, CO 81002.
