Floyd Kercher, 88, died on April 16, 2013 at Pikes Peak Hospice. Floyd was born on August 14, 1924 in Isabelle, SD to Charles and Lydia (Schmidt) Kercher. Floyd served with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division during WWII, as a Combat Medic in the European Theater. Floyd married Elsie I. Kunau on February 8, 1946, in Greeley, Colorado. Floyd spent most of his career in Commercial Construction in Colorado and California before returning to Colorado Springs in 2005. Floyd is survived by his wife; sister, Vivian Weber of Grapevine, TX; brother, Verlin Kercher of Colorado Springs; daughter, Charlotte (Mike) Holland of Miamisburg, OH; son, Ronald (Loretta) Kercher of Colorado Springs; 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jarrell Dean; sisters: Lillian Schuler and Violet Gneiser, and brothers: Elmer and Marvin Kercher. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, 24 April at 1:00 pm, at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave. in Colorado Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Pikes Peak Hospice, or The Wounded Warrior Project.
