Francis "Dale" Curry Obituary
Francis "Dale" Curry, 80, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013, at Village At Skyline Care Center in Colorado Springs with his wife at his side.

Dale was born in Hardin, Montana on July 14, 1933 to Robert Lee and Leone (Elder) Curry. He was raised in St. Xavier, Montana along with his older brother, Donald, until he was in the 8th grade. At that time his family moved to Lodge Grass, Montana where Dale began his freshman year at Lodge Grass High School, graduating in 1951. It was during that time that Dale met and became good friends with Jack Stevens. Dale began spending time at the Stevens Family NI Ranch, working and fishing in Lodge Grass Creek every chance he got. Dale eventually began dating Jack's sister, Mary and they were married on November 6, 1954 in Lodge Grass.

Shortly after their marriage Dale and Mary moved to Rapid City, South Dakota where he was employed by Hills Materials General Engineering Construction. There they made many lifelong friends. In 1959 Dale, Mary and their two boys moved to Grants New Mexico where Dale went to work for Homestake Mines. The family remained there until 1964 when Dale, Mary and their three boys moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. There, Dale was employed by Colorado interstate Gas and its various affiliated companies until his retirement in 1995.

While at CIG, Dale became involved with the CIG Retirees Club, helping many of his friends with paperwork, finding answers to questions and helping with the planning of the annual retirees dinner and party in Lamar, Colorado. Dale got a lot of satisfaction from helping his friends however he could, and he continued doing that until his death.

After Dale's retirement, he and Mary enjoyed travelling and visiting their many friends and family. Dale always travelled with a fishing pole and creel in the car, he never knew when he might come across a good fishing hole!

Dale leaves his wife of 59 years, Mary (Stevens) Curry, three sons & their wives, Terry and Linda of Yreka, California; Barry and Tokuko of Northglenn, Colorado; and Rob and Lori of Winchester, Virginia; Eight grandchildren, Patrick, Melanie, Jonathan, Isaiah, Steven, Mark, Natalie and Timothy; five great grandchildren, Ethan, Taylor, Gavin, Jaden & Kyrie. Also many cousins, nephews and nieces. Dale never met a stranger, so he leaves behind many, many friends.

Dale was predeceased by his parents, Robert Lee and Leone Curry, his older brother Donald Curry and an infant son, Dean Roy Curry.

At Dale's request there will be no services at this time. Dale's wish was to have his cremains taken back to the NI Ranch in Montana. There was no place on this earth that he would rather be!

Donations may be made in Dale's behalf to Big Horn County Historical Society, Route 1 Box 1206A, Hardin, Montana 59034.
