Georgia Drake Edmondson, 81, died in Colorado Springs on July 13th, 2013. Born on January 15th, 1932 to Whitney and Vivian Carter in Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from University of Kansas in 1954 (Go Jayhawks) with a degree in art, and married Harold Edmondson shortly after graduating. Georgia was an accomplished watercolor artist and painted up until her death. She had an incredibly positive outlook on life. She adored her two grandsons and spent time encouraging and loving them along the way. She was a part of Joshua's success in getting his P.H.D. in Psychology and loved watching Kaleb play college football. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Edmondson Gamez, (Kirk) and her two grandsons, Kaleb Gamez and Joshua Stewart. Her sister, Stephanie Gebert of La Quinta, California, also survives her. A son, Mark Whitney Edmondson, precedes her. Services will be held at the Union Printers Home, 101 S. Union, Friday the 19th of July at 10:00 am. A memorial fund has been set up in her name at Union Printers Home. Proceeds will fund art books and supplies for the residents. The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Union Printers Home and her wonderful friends for the loving care and friendships she had. She will be missed.
