James F. DeMoor, cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 6, 2014 in his home. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, June 6, 1930 to Joseph and Vera DeMoor.

James graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in St. Louis, MO. He attended Missouri University in Columbia, MO and earned a bachelor of science degree in forestry. Upon graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Air Force. He served our country in various military assignments for 20 years and retired in Colorado Springs. He then became an insurance advisor for Met Life Financial Services Inc, serving many families and individuals in our community.

James had numerous hobbies including traveling abroad, gardening, woodworking, volunteering, baking and cooking, genealogy, making rosaries, hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of the Rockies and the Broncos. Service and leadership in a humble manner were very important to James.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucille, of 58 years; faithful children, Joe DeMoor, Michelle (Steve) Rakel and Ann (John) Mandico; loving grandchildren, Marie, Sarah, Laura, Kathy, Seth, Renee, Maria, Joseph, Michelle, and Christina; precious great grandchildren, Max, Sebastian, Zach, Joseph, Maria, Luke, and Lucy Ann; as well as a host of wonderful family and friends.

The family invites you to celebrate his life on Thursday, Feb. 13, with a Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m., followed by a lunch reception, at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 3122 Poinsetta Dr. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14, at Evergreen Cemetery.

The family extends their sincere thanks to Pikes Peak Hospice, Penrose Cancer Center, and a special thanks to Dr. Hammers, MD Neurosurgeon, for the special and loving care of James. Also, to all his family and friends that have made these last few months so special for him.
