Janet Lyford, 70, of Pueblo West, departed this life on August 6, 2013. She is survived by her husband Joe Lyford and three children, son Adam Heflin, his wife Toni and their children, Chris, Patrick and Zane. Daughter Kyla Hammond, her husband Rhea and their twin girls Alexandra and Gabriella and son Pat Heflin, his wife Rikki and their three children, Allison, Kate and Ben. Janet was born in Connecticut, graduated from Pacific University in Oregon and spent the remaining years of her life in Colorado. She was a career school administrator, beginning as a classroom teacher who moved into administration and became one of the first female school superintendents in the state. Janet served as Assistant Superintendent in Monte Vista, and as Superintendent in Alamosa and District 20 in Colorado Springs. Her favorite charities were Sangre de Cristo Hospice and Meals on Wheels. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Imperial Funeral Home.
