Jean was tragically killed in an automobile accident on July 23, 2013. She was born in Dallas, Texas and married Richard Davis in 1948. She was an Air Force wife for the next 22 years. They traveled extensively in America and Europe. Their only son, Richard Davis Jr. was killed in Vietnam in 1970. After her beloved husband died suddenly in 1980, she embarked on a whole new life. For the next 12 years, she was highly visible as The Personal Shopper and fashion consultant for Joslins. She produced numerous fashion events and hosted a weekly television show, "Focus on Fashion," for 5 years on KRDO. The Wall Street Journal once referred to Jean as "the fashion icon of Colorado Springs." Retiring from this life in 1995, she remained active in the community, volunteering with Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the Tale Tellers Troupe, and serving on the board for Salvation Army. She is survived by her chosen family in Colorado, the Laird family, Bert and Barbara; Tripp, Ann; her children, Stephen and Kristina Ritchie; Doug and Elin; and their children: Henrik, Kristian and Helen. She is also survived by a daughter, Cindy Bivens; and grandsons, Cinco Molesworth and Bryan Jones. Memorial services will be on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 2:00PM at Grace Episcopal Church. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
