Julietta E. Meador of Colorado Springs died November 15th, 2012 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl G. Meador, in 2001. Julietta was born on February 11, 1923 in Manchuria, China where she lived until the communist takeover. After living in Tokyo, she met and married Carl and traveled with him in the United States and abroad while they served in the U.S. Army. In 1965, they moved to Colorado Springs making it their permanent home. Julietta was a dedicated wife and mother who enjoyed flower gardening and raising house plants. She was an accomplished bridge player, reaching Life Master status and traveling across the Western U.S. for tournaments. Julietta enjoyed knitting, sewing, and crochet as well as oil and pastel painting. Well known for her cooking and baking, she loved entertaining friends and family. Her affinity for slot machines from Cripple Creek to Las Vegas is also well known. Julietta is survived by her five children: Francis Trent, Anna Willie, and Julie Burski of Colorado Springs; Patricia Meador of Salida, CO; and Richard Meador of Sierra Vista, AZ. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. The memorial service is 2:00 PM, Friday, 23 November at Swan-Law Funeral Home, 501 North Cascade, Colorado Springs, CO 80903.
