Karen Elizabeth Cliatt-Gilkes, age 44, died on Thursday 30, 2013 after a courageous two year battle with ovarian cancer. Karen was born on October 29, 1968 to Edwin and Susan Cliatt at the USAF Academy Hospital. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ian and her wonderful children, daughter Johanna and son Finnian. She is also survived by her parents, Edwin and Susan, her brothers Stephen and wife Sarah Beth, Jeffrey and wife Maribel and Ian's parents, Leonard and Daphne Gilkes. Karen graduated from Rampart High School in 1987 and the University of Colorado at Boulder in 1991. She received a BSN degree from Regis University in 1998. She was a registered nurse and worked at Montrose Memorial Hospital in Montrose, Colorado and Penrose Community in Colorado Springs. At the time of her death she was working in the labor/delivery department at Memorial Hospital. Karen will always be remember for being a kind and loving person who was totally devoted to her family and many friends. People truly enjoyed being a part of this young lady's life. She will be surely missed. We wish to thank everyone at the Pikes Peak Hospice for making Karen's last days comfortable. A memorial service will be held 10:30am on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at All Souls Unitarian Church, 730 N. Tejon Street, Colorado Springs, Colorado.
