Kittie Jane (Lane) Kerr was born December 31, 1928 on a farm north of Collyer, Kansas to Gordon Lane and Etta (Elliott) Lane. She grew up in a very close family of five sisters. On January 25, 1948 she married Joseph Schneider and had two wonderful daughters Jane Schneider, and Linda Schneider.|
She moved to Colorado Springs in 1956 after a tornado destroyed their home in Kansas. After the passing of her husband she remarried William Kerr in 1972 becoming a step mother to two wonderful children Scott Kerr and Karen Kerr. She loved her family dearly and along with her faith were vital elements of her life.
Kittie worked for the Colorado Springs Utilities for over 20 years before retiring. She was an active volunteer with West Side Cares and member of her Church. Kittie was also a longtime member of the Sunshine-Rebekah lodge of Colorado Springs. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed fishing and cross-word puzzles.
Kittie entered the Kingdom of God on August 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Schneider and William Kerr both of Colorado Springs, her daughter Jane (Schneider) Hagerman of Humble, Texas, and three of her sisters Bessie Hobbs, Jessie Schneider, and Laura Schneider all of Wakeeney, Kansas.
Kittie is survived by her sister Pearl (Lane) Stoppel, two daughters Linda Schneider, Karen (Kerr) Adams, son Scott Kerr all of Colorado Springs, Colorado, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Grace Lutheran Church at 10:00 am on Friday, September 6, 2013 with interment on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Wakeeney Cemetery in Wakeeney, Kansas.
