Leonard D. Johnson passed away on May 6, 2013 in Colorado Springs. He was born on August 21, 1930, in Lincoln Nebraska, to Willard L. and Viola A. (Wilde) Johnson. Leonard was a proud Army veteran. After his discharge from the Army, he worked for a time at Clark's Service Station before joining the Colorado Springs Police Department. He was a part of the Police Department from January 1957 until his retirement in May 1991. Leonard loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Leonard is survived by his children: Robert Jardon, Deborah Orr and Sandra (Robert) Knight; as well as six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Dorothy "Sue;" and a daughter, Linda Spayd. He will be loved and missed by a large circle of family and friends. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 10:00 - 12:00 at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Avenue. A funeral service will begin at 12:00.
