Marianne Metzler Looney was born October 29, 1921 at Glockner Hospital. After graduating from San Luis School in 1939, she worked at Alexander Film Company. Marianne married Lt. Daniel Francis Looney September 25, 1945. They remained married until his death in May, 1991. Mrs. Looney was a volunteer at Glockner Penrose Hospital for forty-seven years. She lived in the Old North End all of her life, and she was one of the last members of the Ditchbox Gang. She loved sitting on her front porch where many stopped to visit, or she simply waved to everyone passing by. Mrs. Looney is survived by her son, Daniel Patrick (Shirley); her daughters: Vanna Gorham, Nancy Olivia, Missy Starks (Marsh), and Katie Hamilton; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. A memorial will be held at Grace & St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 3:00pm in the afternoon.
