Mary Pearce Obituary

Mary Loyd Pearce, 86, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away August 8, 2011 due to complications of Alzheimer's disease. Mary was born April 2, 1925 in Crockett, Tennessee the 5th of 12 children born to Joe and Alta Loyd. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth R. Pearce; children: Kay Smith (Elwyn) of Colorado Springs; Janet Anderson (Paul) of Riverside California; Susan Walline (Millard) of Vacaville, California; Patricia Jennings (Timothy) of Chandler, Arizona; and Kenneth Pearce (Katrina) of Alamo, California. She has 12 grandchildren: Kirk, Jeff, Terri, Lisa, Jennifer, Kathy, Tricia, Joe, Christine, Jessie, Jessica, Kendra and 19 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Nancy Weir and grandsons Ronald Kohl, Jr. and Kenneth Walline. In addition to raising 6 children and several grandchildren, Mary served 31 years and 33 moves as an Air Force wife. She loved traveling, gardening, reading, sewing, shopping, but most of all, her family. A private family gathering was held in Mary's honor.

What greater success in life could one hope to have than to leave behind a family that dearly loves you? That is the success my mother achieved. She and my father are the solid rock foundation of this family. Mama, I miss you, love you, and hold you dear in my heart. Daddy, be strong.
