"Mike" Miguel J. Barajas Jr., age 47, was called to Heaven by our Lord on Ash Wednesday, February 13, 2013. He was born on May 18, 1965 to Miguel J. Barajas Sr. and Vivian H. Barajas at Ft. Carson, Colorado. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and good friend to many who loved him and will miss him greatly. He graduated from Widefield High School, Class of 1983. Shortly after high school he enlisted in the United States Army where he services his country honorably from 1984 to 1987 at Ft. Bliss, TX. Where he met and later married Sandra Siegel. After the Army he worked as a hospital security guard in a local hospital in El Paso, TX. Mike moved back home to Colorado Springs, CO in 1996 and started a new career as an Automotive Technician and worked as such up until his death. Mike was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and an usher at St. Dominic Catholic Church. He enjoyed building models in his younger years and working on cars later in life. He enjoyed just walking around the junk yard and classic car shows. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting. Mike is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sandra Barajas; daughters, Dawn Richberg and Angie Cross; grandson, Steven Jr.; granddaughter, Heaven. He is also survived by his parents,Miguel Sr. and Vivian Barajas; brothers, Christopher Barajas, Jimmy Barajas and wife, Elizabeth; Gregory Barajas and wife Corina. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces and other family members who will miss his big heart, sense of humor and all around amazing man. There will be a private viewing for immediate family only. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Fountain, on Friday, February 22, 2013 at 10am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be offered to help his family.
