Monte Alderson, age 90, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 in Colorado Springs. She was born June 21, 1919 in Plainview, Texas to Edward E. and Helen (Nyhus) Monzingo. She lived for the first four years of her life in Texas and then moved to Colorado Springs. Monte was known for her love of playing Bridge. Not only did she love to play but she was very good at it! She also enjoyed sewing, collecting recipes, and traveling with her husband, Richard. She married Richard H. Alderson on April 29, 1940 in Littleton, Colorado. She is survived by her husband, Richard; her nephew, Dennis Monzingo; and her dear friends, Tom and Michele Mcguire and their family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her two brothers, Ed and Robert Monzingo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The Alderson family wishes to express their sincerest thanks for the loving care provided to Monte by McKenzie Place and Evercare Hospice. Blessed be her memory.
