Olinda was born and raised in Victoria, Kansas to John and Catherine Rupp. She was 1 of 13 children.

Olinda is survived by her sons, Gary Schnurr (Judi) of Phoenix, Arizona and Stephen Schnurr (Diana) of Colorado Springs, two sisters, Alice Wasinger of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Albertine Rome of Hays, Kansas. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Gregory Schnurr and Crystal Schnurr, both of Colorado Springs, Kirk Schnurr of Ft. Collins, Colorado and Amy Snell (Jason) of Windsor, Colorado; Jay Hohl, Steve Hohl (Liz), Danny Hohl and Ann Mondry (Gary), all of Wichita, Kansas, along with 17 beautiful great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, Linn Hohl, and granddaughter, Susan, both of Wichita, Kansas, and is survived by her daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Hohl of Wichita, Kansas.

In 1944, she married Eddie Schnurr in Hutchinson, Kansas. Work took them to Garden City, Kansas in 1958, and in 1964, the family moved to Colorado Springs where they purchased Union Boulevard Drycleaners. After Eddie's death in 1972, she volunteered for several non-profit organizations. She loved to get her family together for German cooked meals, enjoyed gardening, playing bingo, making quilts, socializing, attending bible classes and going to church. She also enjoyed taking family trips to Trout Haven Resort for fishing and camping. Later in life, she especially enjoyed taking car rides through Garden of the Gods and enjoyed viewing the city lights at night.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2030 W. Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado. A rosary will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by mass.
