Richard Glenn Prince, age 63, died Sunday, July 27th after a 21 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer, at his home in Black Forest, surrounded by his family.
Dick was an excellent husband, father, and grandfather and follower of Jesus Christ. He was an avid outdoors man and loved hiking and camping with his family. He also spent many weekends hunting and fishing with his friends. He enjoyed his dogs, watching baseball and being a volunteer tutor and Big Brother.
Dick was born in Colton, SD in 1951 to Francis and Albert Prince. He moved to Colorado in his early 20's and married his wife Cheryl in 1977. He began work for Katzke Paper Company in 1981 and loved his work so much that he was still visiting customers until the last few days of his life.
He is survived by his wife Cheryl, daughter Stacey and son-in law Roy Matthewson (Black Forest, CO), son Luke and daughter-in-law Ginny (Oakland, CA), brothers Greg Prince (Colton, SD) and Steve Prince (Lyons, SD). He is also survived by three grandchildren, Lydia, Melody, and Peter. He loved every minute of being a grandfather, and was the best grandfather these three babies could ever ask for.
To celebrate Dick, there will be a memorial service for him on Saturday, August 2 at 2pm at Springs Community Church, 7290 Lexington Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80920.
In lieu of flowers, please make a gift in support of pancreatic cancer research at the University of Colorado. That big smile! He had such an open friendly spirit and every conversation was punctuated with that wonderful smile. He was a good man. Our hearts and prayers are with you, Cheryl.

One of the most genuine persons I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are no doubt having one terrific celebration in Heaven in honor of the new Prince in town.

My thoughts and prayers are with Dick's family. Knew Dick from church and school in Colton, but really got to know him in college at Northwestern, even we're roommates for a while. Loved his wonderful sense of humor. Will miss you Dick

Had the honor to know and interact with Dick. He was a brother in Christ whom mentored to me each and every time by his example. The world is less without him, heaven has already greeted him with open arms. Matt E.

Dear Family,
Dick and I went to school all 12 years and went to the same church in Colton. He was very shy but came out of his shell because of his family I believe. I will miss him even though we didn't keep in touch much. Please know that I will lift you all up in prayer as you go through this difficult time. RIP Dick. God's love to you all....
