CW4 Richard J. (Dick) Asbell. USA RET Dick (78) died on November 4 at Memorial Hospital due to complications of a massive stroke. He was retired from the US Army, having served in Korea, Vietnam, Europe, and posts in the U.S. After his military career of 28 years he worked for TRW and Amphenol Interconnect Products. He was a life member of DAV. Post 1, VFW Post 3917 and American Legion Post 38, all of Security. Dick was born April 5, 1931 to Quinton E. and Remona (Bakey) Asbell in Chicago Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Mal Sun (Sunni), of Colorado Springs. His son Richard Jr.(Christina) Asbell and three grandsons Patrick, Nicholas and Tyler, of Dubuque Iowa. His estranged daughter Mona Lynn (Tom) Burbach also of Iowa. His daughter Anni C. (Steve) residing in Southern Colorado. Dick was preceded in death by his mother Remona (Bakey) (Asbell) Ernzen, Father Quinton and a younger Brother Donald. A wake was held at Dove-Witt Family Mortuary 6630 S. Hwy 85/87, Fountain CO on Saturday November 7 at 4pm, with internment at Fairview Cemetery, Fountain CO on Monday November 9th at 11am.
