Robert "Bob" Steven Mrak was born on August 5, 1952 in Muncie, Indiana. He died on Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Linda; and their children, Peggy, Lauren and Thomas. He is also survived by his parents, Steve and Leonora; and his siblings, Carol, Janice and Tim.
Bob graduated from Southwest Texas State and entered the Air Force in 1975 as a missile officer, later becoming a signals intelligence officer. Bob transitioned from active duty to Air Force civil service in 1986. He continued building his intelligence career within the Defense Intelligence Community. Bob worked various positions in Washington DC, San Antonio and Colorado Springs.
Bob enjoyed helping people and gave his all in what he undertook. He lived his life following the ethics and code of the west. Away from work, his knowledge of firearms and standing up for others was put to task when he was a volunteer serving with the Colorado Mounted Rangers. He was called upon to assist local law enforcement and help the people of our communities with festivals and events from Colorado Springs to Fairplay.
He retired from the Defense Intelligence Agency in January 2014. Sadly, he was not able to live out his hopes, plans and aspirations and enjoy the benefits of retirement that he worked his life to earn.

Bob was a "giver," not a "taker," with a heart too big for his body...always a smile and kind words, regardless of the situation...it was a true pleasure to work with Bob and an honor to know him...God bless him and his family!
