Russell "Russ" Chamney died Sunday, January 27, 2013 following a long illness. Russ was born in Colorado Springs on March 12, 1953 to parents Lillian "Fran" and John "Jack" Chamney. He graduated from Harrison High School in 1971 and from Mesa State College in 1975 with a degree in Human Services. He later obtained a second degree in Computer Science. In his youth, Russ played hockey and football and enjoyed swimming and fishing. He loved music and took pleasure in watching NASCAR and Football and taking trips to Cripple Creek with his close friends. He was active in the MS Society and loved his dog, Kane. Russ is preceded in death by his father and survived by his mother and "the sisters": Linda Wade and Cynthia McDermed of Colorado Springs, Roberta Ripley of Woodland Park, Marcia Allen of Bailey, CO, and Carol Lee of Aiea, HI and their families. There will be a celebration of life service at Blunt Mortuary, 2229 W. Colorado Ave. in Colorado Springs on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in Russ's honor may be made to the National MS Society, Colorado-Wyoming Chapter, P.O.
