Russell Morris Adsit, 62, of Colorado Springs, Colorado went to be with the Lord on March 31, 2010. He was born on December 23, 1947 in Buffalo, New York. He is survived by his beloved mother, Helen Adsit, three sisters, Judy Duguid and her husband Thomas, Kathy Adsit, Mary Ellen Kenney and her husband Stephen, brother, George Adsit, and 40 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Morris Adsit, brother, Ronald Adsit, and nephew, Joshua Kenney. Russell graduated from Rutgers University in 1970. He honorably served his country in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of service in May of 1998. During his service, Russell received many awards and commendations. His most notable accolades include the Navy Achievement Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Russell was loved and admired by those who knew him. His family and friends will forever miss his great sense of humor and love for the Broncos. He had a generous spirit and canny memory. We were blessed to share in his time on earth. Viewing will held on Monday, April 5, 2010 from 3:00PM-6:00PM with a Rosary at 6PM at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 East Platte Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30AM at Divine Redeemer Catholic Church, located at 927 Logan Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery with Memorial/Reception following at Divine Redeemer.
