Celebrating the life of Ruth Ellen Lang (Williamson), born 1920, Russellville, Arkansas. Ruth Ellen was an only child who grew up in Russellville during the depression when times were tough. Doted on by her parents and granny, she left home to work in Little Rock where she met and married George Robert Lang in 1942. They made a life together raising two sons, Mike and John, as the family moved from Michigan to Illinois to Texas, finally landing in Palatine, Illinois. When her sons married she became a beloved mother-in-law to Gwen and Bonnie. At retirement, Ruth Ellen and George moved back to her hometown of Russellville. She was a roller coaster riding grandma who indulged her grandchildren with candy, chips and other illicit freedoms, much to their delight. Ruth Ellen died peacefully in her sleep on June 17th in Colorado Springs. She lived a full life, sharing her grace and kindness with all she met. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28th, 4pm in Colorado Springs at Liberty Heights Senior Center.
