Setsuko Tolbert, (Kay), age 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2013. Her final stage of life was spent in the caring hands of Mary Kouri at Robin's Nest in Colorado Springs. |
Setsuko was born on December 28, 1932 in Tokyo, Japan. She met her husband John Rayburn Tolbert, deceased in 2009, in Japan and they married July 24th, 1959.
She moved to the states with her military husband and settled in Colorado Springs where she was employed at Hewlett-Packard for many years. She was a devoted mom to her two sons and adored her grandchildren with all her heart. She was known for her wonderful cooking skills and insistence that everybody "eat more".
Setsuko is survived by her 2 sons George (wife Donnie) of Anchorage, Alaska, and Gary (wife Gamela) of Colorado Springs; grandchildren, Calum Tolbert, and Rayburn Tolbert (deceased in 2012); step grandchild Chantel Money; and step great-grandchildren Ayana and Yvaine Money.
Services will be held Saturday October 19th at 10:30 am at the South Side Bible Chapel, 1725 S Wahsatch Ave. The viewing will be from 9:30-10:30.
