Born in Korosladany, Hungary, December 12, 1930. Called home by his Lord, Jesus Christ, August 22, 2013, in Colorado Springs. Steve escaped Hungary for a better life with economic opportunity and freedom from religious persecution, settling in Akron, OH in 1958. His life in this country has been greatly blessed. On October 25, 1959, Steve married Elizabeth Vidakovics, originally of Baja, Hungary, who survives him. Together they have six children that survive him, Steve D. (Carolyn), Monument, CO; Elizabeth (Peter) Folia, Salem, OR; Cindy (John) Lelea, Hawthorne, CA; Arnold (Livia), Monument, CO; Roy (Lan), San Diego, CA; and Audrey (Rudy) Zarkovacki, Falcon, CO. He is also survived by 29 grandchildren and by his sister, Margaret (late Al) Betz, Rittman, OH. Steve's first love was serving the Lord through the Apostolic Christian Church, Nazarean where he served as a Minister for nearly 25 years. He worked as a machinist for about 20 years in the plastic injection mold industry in Akron. He enjoyed beekeeping, gardening and growing fruit trees. In September, 1981 he moved his family to Southern California where he eventually worked as a machinist for six years at Northrop Corp. He then moved with his wife to the Colorado Springs area in 1993, most recently residing in Falcon. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Ferenc; mother, Julianna; brother and six sisters. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Evergreen Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place Monday 10 A.M. at Evergreen officiated by Ministers of the Apostolic Christian Church. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the many prayers and support on behalf of their husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor. He will be greatly missed.
