His military career included tours of service in remote installations in Alaska and on the battlefields of Vietnam.

He was born January 5, 1933 to John and Beatrice Simmons of Elkton, Maryland. He was preceded in death by parents, siblings and his wife Erma.

He is survived by his daughters, Deborah D'Annunzio and Tina Bolejack and by his sons, Howard and Chuck Simmons, his stepson, Dave Rose, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Chuck and Erma were members of First Lutheran Church in Colorado Springs.

At Chuck's request, a public graveside memorial, with military honors will be February 4 at 10:30 a.m. at Memorial Gardens, 3825 Airport Road.
