Barbara Emma Fickies McNamara-Jones Obituary
Barbara Emma (Fickies) McNamara-Jones, 85, of Colorado Springs, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 following a long illness. She was born in Lansing, MI to Chester & Illabelle (Francis) Fickies, deceased. She married James McNamara on August 14, 1947 in Elkhart, IN. They were married 52 years upon his death in 2000. She married Herbert L. Jones on August 4, 2010 who preceded her in death earlier this year. Barbara had three older brothers, Clifford, Sheridan, and Donald, all deceased.

She is survived by three children, Janette (late John) Cabaniss, J. David (Judith) McNamara, and Susan Douglas; seven grandchildren, John Cabaniss, Amy Wilson, Elizabeth (Joseph) Pettine, Allison (Mark) Petzold, Kathleen McNamara, Eric (Ashlen) Douglas and Jeremy T. (Leila) Douglas; and 4 great grandchildren Amber, Bethany and John Luke Wilson, and Jeremy A. Douglas.

Barbara's motto was Trust in the Lord with all her heart, and she leaned not on her own understanding. In all her ways, she acknowledged the Lord and He directed her path. He has directed her all the way to Heaven, and she had the right to go because she asked the Lord Jesus Christ to be her savior as a child.

Services will be held on Tuesday, February 11 at 1 pm at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel, 3825 Airport Road. A viewing will be held on Monday, February 10 from 5-7 pm.

Instead of flowers, contributions can be made to Pikes Peak area Silver Key meals on wheels where Barbara volunteered for close to 20 years.
