Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and widow of Charles Brooks, Julia "Julie" Brooks, 87, Passed away March 8, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Michael and Wendy Brooks; grandchildren, Adrienne Arnold and Jason Brooks; and great grandchildren, Storrie Arnold and Jordan Brooks. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Perry; sister-in-law Loulie Curtis; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Dolly Brooks and their extended families.

Julie's husband of 63 years, Charles "Chuck" Brooks preceded her in death on September 9, 2012. She was a devoted, supportive, and loyal wife during his 30 years of service in the United States Air Force. She was always there for Chuck and their children during frequent relocations, making each new address a comfortable, warm, and loving home.

Julie was born in Niagara Falls, New York on January 23, 1927. She was blessed with a beautiful soprano voice and attended Oberlin Conservatory of music. She sang at Constitution Hall in Washington DC in 1947 and also in a chorus on Broadway.

She married Chuck on January 8, 1949 in Riverside, California. The most treasured times of her life were her marriage and the births of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Over the years, she enjoyed acting, golf, bridge, quilting, gardening, reading, and crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Julie will be greatly missed by her family, but her memory will live on in our hearts.
