James Anthony DeMark 86 of Colorado Springs passed away April 17 2014. He was born May 22, 1927 to James E. and Nettie DeMark and graduated from St. Mary's High School.

Jim served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the Escort Aircraft Carrier USS Bogue as a Petty Officer First Class. Jim met the love of his life, Valda and they were married in 1949 at Corpus Christi Church.
Jim Joined the Colorado Springs Fire Department in 1951 and served for 28 years retiring as a Captain. He enjoyed collecting and maintaining cars, hunting, fishing, camping, and playing cards with friends. He was a member of the Pike's Peak 4-Wheel Drive Club and the Isaac Walton Gun Club. He loved traveling throughout Europe, Canada, and the U.S. with his loving wife. He was a member of the VFW Post 4051.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, and a sister.
He is survived by a son, James A. DeMark III, (Conni), three daughters, Deborah Golden (Daniel), Vickie Welsh (Michael), and Sherry Norris; five grandchildren, Scott, Benjamin, Jillian, Jared, and James Kyle; four great grandchildren; Blaize, Khyler, Madeline, and Sawyer James.
A Viewing will be held Friday April 25th from 5-7:30 pm at Swan Law Funeral Directors.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, April 26th, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
In Lieu of flowers contributions in James' name may be made to Pike's Peak Hospice of Colorado Springs.
