SPC Rafael M. Ribeiro, age 31, a resident of Colorado Springs since January 8, 2013 died tragically on July 4, 2014 in Colorado Springs as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was an American Army Infantryman who had proudly become a U.S. Citizen on October 1, 2010.

Rafael Macelan Ribeiro was born on March 30, 1983 in Itabira, Brazil to Jose Henrique and Antonia De Fatima Macelan Ribeiro. He attended schools in Brazil and became a Fighter in the Brazilian Jujitsu, where had earned a double black belt. His love was his family life and conquering his many goals. He was a true fighter who enjoyed his freedom, his children and the United States.
He is survived by his loving wife, Natalia and their children: Gabriel and Zoee. He is also survived by his mother: Fatima and his brother: Lucas Ribeiro of Brazil. He is also survived by his loving family, his many friends and his brothers in arms.

Funeral Service, 4:00PM, Saturday, July 19, 2014, The Springs Funeral Services. A reception will follow at 5223 Rondo Way, Security, Colorado.
Graveside Service with Full Military Honors, 1:30PM, Monday, July 21, 2014, Fort Logan National Cemetery. We will gather at The Springs Funeral Services at 11:30AM for the procession to Fort Logan.
