Beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend died in his bed at home in Colorado Springs on the morning of September 26th. Nick was born at Scott AFB, IL, and for the next several years travelled the world with his family, finally settling in Colorado Springs in 2003. Nick was an exceptional student and athlete at Rampart High School. He was involved in Basketball, Soccer, Track, and Drama. He was also a Link Crew Leader and a Peer Group Advisor. A leader on and off the field of sport, Nick's infectious smile, genuine compassion, selfless spirit and competitive attitude touched many, many people. Always a champion of the underdog, Nick was first to defend his friends, promote and encourage his teammates, and share his wit and smile with everyone with whom he came in contact. In this small corner of the world, Nick truly was a Big Fish. A Memorial Service is planned at Rampart High School gymnasium, Sunday, October 4 at 11:00 AM. In coordination with the High School, the family has established a Memorial Fund that will honor a student athlete at Rampart each year. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Nicholas M. Reff Memorial Fund, c/o Grandmother, Ruby J. Hill, 7085 Ash Creek Heights #102, Colorado Springs, CO 80922.
