Marguerite (Swindler) Henderson departed this life and went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 25, 2010. She was a resident of Montrose for the past 11 years and had formerly resided in Colorado Springs from 1947 to 1999. Marguerite was born on February 16, 1914 in Thorntown, Indiana to Daniel David and Susan Emma (Holliday) Strong. She was a homemaker, a conservationist and a nature lover. She also loved handcrafts. She is survived by her children: Gerald Robert (wife Patsy) Swindler, Patricia Swindler (husband Harold) Miller, Carolyn Swindler (husband John) McCullough-Follis, Beverly Swindler Moss, and Carol Lynn Henderson; fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her two husbands: James L. Swindler and Arthur Edward Henderson; eight brothers and two sisters; and one grandson. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Shrine of Remembrance Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2010 at Pikes Peak United Methodist Church, 2927 W. Pikes Peak Ave. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Colorado Springs followed by a reception at the church. Memorials may be made in Marguerite's name to Montrose Christian Church, 2351 Sunnyside Road, Montrose, CO 81401, or to Pikes Peak United Methodist Church, 2927 West Pikes Peak Avenue, Colorado Springs, CO 80904.
