Jean Carol Schwennesen Rothe passed away on November 3, 2012. She was born in Chicago, IL, on May 28, 1945, to the late Donald and Margaret Casey Schwennesen. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, was an active member and alumna of Pi Beta Phi, and conducted graduate studies at Southern Methodist University. She pursued lifelong passions of interior design, residential architecture, and real estate investment. She was a talented chef and enjoyed creating memorable meals for family and friends. She volunteered in the community with Meals on Wheels and the Colorado Springs Humane Society. She was a devoted mother and wife and dedicated her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed many happy years in Colorado, Texas, Arizona, and Montana. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 45 years James T. Rothe; daughters Katharine Elise of Fort Collins, CO, and Holly (Beau) Wielkoszewski of Springfield, VA; sister Joan (Bill) Amideo of Atlanta, GA; brother Don (Rose) Schwennesen of Bigfork, MT, and many nieces, nephews, and grand-dogs. A private memorial will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Flathead Lakers in Montana or the Colorado Springs Humane Society.
