Erma Lee (Barker) Damerell, 91, formerly of Anaheim, CA died peacefully on November 14, 2012 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Born on March 3, 1921 in Oak Hill, KS, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert "Duff" & Katherine (Struthers) Barker. When she was very young, the family moved to Southern California. She married Raymond A. Damerell, pictured with Erma, in 1940 and was a loving and devoted wife to Raymond until his passing on November 7, 2009. Erma was very involved in her children's lives being an active member in the local PTA and being a "Band Mom". The biggest time of the year for the family was the 4th of July backyard barbecue and fireworks shows. Erma and Raymond loved to play cards, square-dance, and travel. After Raymond's retirement, travel included many trips to Hawaii, Mexico, and Europe. They moved to Colorado Springs in 1992. Erma was loved by all of her surviving relatives and will be very missed! She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond, her sister Marguerite and two grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, Myrna Lanier, Lakin, KS; Raymond P. Damerell, Chino Hills, CA; and Barry Damerell, Colorado Springs, CO; seven grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
