Jeanette Marie Powers, 42, passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 in Arlington, Texas after a long illness. Jeanette was born in Bitburg, Germany to a military family on July 29, 1970. Her early years were spent growing up and learning in Albuquerque, NM and Wichita Falls, Texas where she graduated from Hirschi High School. In 1992 Jeanette earned the US Air Force Dental Assistant certificate and worked as a Dental Assistant for four years. She received an Associate of Science in Business Management degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in Indianapolis, IN. She continued her studies at the University of Texas at Arlington, TX where she was a member of the pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. For ten years Jeanette worked at GM Financial, previously Americredit Financial, as a Funding Specialist and then as Credit Review Analyst-Fraud Investigator. She also trained new hire fraud investigators. While applying her knowledge of fraud, research and investigative skills, Jeanette received numerous awards and accolades for her work. She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Arlington, Texas. There she taught Sunday School and served in the Eucharistic and Liturgy Ministries. Jeanette was a cherished, loving daughter and mother. Her daughter, Hannah, was the most important thing in her life. Being kind-hearted and unselfish, Jeanette rescued several cats and dogs and kept them as pets. Her smile and humor made it a pleasure to be around her. The joy that Jeanette gave her family for forty-two years cannot be measured. She will be greatly missed by all, but has gone to be with her Heavenly Father. Survivors include her daughter, Hannah Ansted; mother, Patricia Powers of Colorado Springs, CO; father, John T. Powers and wife, Fran of Wichita Falls, TX; brother, John P. Powers; and children, Haley, Karley and Conner of Helotes, Texas; grandmother, Jean Powers of Green Springs, OH; step-brother, Jason M. Bone and wife, Jamie; and children, Allison and Travis of Spring, Texas; close family friend, Marty Cooper of Colorado Springs, CO; and aunts, uncles and cousins. The family with friends will have a celebration of Jeanette's life at Midlothian Funeral Home with Rev. Layne A. Mershimer of Midlothian Bible Church officiating on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be given to Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Suite 105, Fort Worth, TX 76107.
