William Michael "Mick" Buie, 67, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on March 13th, 2013, peacefully in his sleep. Mick was born in Elmhurst, Illinois on November 18, 1946. He graduated from Proviso East High School, Maywood, IL, in 1963, and went on to attend the Ray Vogue School of Art in Chicago. In 1966, Mick enlisted in the Army, and served in Vietnam as an MP. After an honorable discharge, he settled in Colorado Springs and pursued his love of art and nature. He was a gifted artist and worked with a variety of media: acrylics, pastels, wood and leather. Mick is predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Ruthvin Buie. He is survived by four sisters, their spouses (and children/spouses): Cynthia Summers (Phillip and Kirstan Summers, Kristi and David Walker, Angi Summers and Jason Craig); Wanda and Jimmy Sellers (Jamie, Julie and Jenny); Linda Marsh (David Douglas and Jackie Miller, and Amanda Reyes); Betsy Dokken and Rand Carlson. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, John Prine. The memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at The Fairfield Inn & Suites Colorado Springs North/Air Force Academy, 15275 Struthers Road, Colorado Springs, 80921, in the main floor meeting room. Pastor Mark Garcia of Fresh Wind Church will be officiating. All friends are welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Fresh Wind Church, 805 N Murray Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80915.
